Today I had technique, pointe, workshop, and jazz workshop. For technique and pointe I had the russian teacher, I don’t know how to spell his name though. He is a very strict teacher, but a very good teacher. And you have to get every head position, arm position, and the right combination. You have to do that anyway but he is really particular about it. He also teaches the russian style, and I love learning different kinds of styles. So I love that Washington School of Ballet teachers teach different ballet styles.
His classes are very challenging, but I love taking them. And we have him all week but Friday, so I am loving the experience.
After lunch I had ballet workshop (rehearsal). And Mr. Torres, who is really hard to impress and is a very strict teacher too, was very happy with our performance. And we showed it to Mr. Han. Who is the directer of The Washington School of Ballet. I was nervous at first, because it was Mr. Han!!!! And Mr. Han said it wasn’t bad, which is a start. He also gave us some very helpful corrections.
In Jazz rehearsal we cleaned our dance and worked on it. It is really fun to do, but it takes a lot of energy.
My performance is in a little less then a week, and I am so excited. I can’t believe that this experience is almost over. It has been so fun and such a learning experience. I am defiantly going to do this again. And I didn’t only learn ballet skills, but life skills.
