Placement Class and Results ( TWSB – Monday)
Hi guys, Today was placement class to determine our class level. I was so nervous. It was our first time taking the AU bus, yay!!!! I was pretty nervous during the class and felt a little stiff. I’m sure I would have done much better had I been taking a class up until now. I haven’t taken ballet in almost a month. But all in all, it was a great class and I’ll stay positive until I get my results. For lunch, before nutrition, my friends and I decided to go to The Giant to get some food. And while I was going back I decided to put my phone in the same…

DTH Gala: Honoring Jessye Norman
Hi guys I got invited to dance in the DTH gala honoring Jessye Norman. The gala is this Tuesday and I am really excited because we are also dancing for Jessye Norman. I did this last year as well, but it was for someone else. We are dancing to one of the songs Jessye Norman sings, Les Nuits D’été, Op.7: I. Villanelle. The countings are really challenging. But I really like the choreography and it is a fun piece to do. Also Mr. Garland is choreographing the piece and I love working with Mr. Garland, he is an amazing choreographer and teacher. I am really excited to perform at the Gala,…

Not so funny story: DTH Summer Intensive Week 2
Today before Pointe Class I couldn’t find my other toe pad. Ballerinas you know exactly how that feels, we’ve all been there. I asked around and nobody had in extra. So I looked in my bag and found a scrunchie and used it as a toe pad. My friends didn’t think it was a good idea. At first I didn’t want to go up on pointe because I thought it would hurt or feel uncomfortable. But it actually felt better then the toe pad. So I just might keep wearing srunchies instead of toe pads. Or I might get a pad that has more cushioning. UPDATE: A little tip to you:…

It is free and everyone is invited. It is on August 9th, hope you guys can make it. Let me know if you do! I have completed one week already and it was fun, exciting, emotional, and tiring. After the first day I was very sore and tired. But also I was excited because they moved me up a level from when I was there during the school year.…

Piano Recital
Today I had my piano recital. I played Twinkle Lullaby. I was really nervous when I got on stage even though I have played this piece in front of an audience before. This was what I was saying to myself the whole time when I was playing: “Don’t mess up, don’t mess up , don’t mess up”. Also my heart was pounding I thought everyone could hear it. But after playing I felt really good. I hope you guys have an amazing summer! Gabriella, the pianist
